Carbon Footprint Reduction

Solar Energy: We are dedicated to reducing our reliance on fossil fuels by evaluating the feasibility of installing solar at our properties. This initiative aims to harness clean energy, thereby reducing our carbon emissions.

EV Charging Stations: To promote sustainable transportation, we are exploring the installation of electric vehicle charging stations at our properties, encouraging both tenants and visitors to adopt greener commuting options.

LED Lighting: We are committed to upgrading our parking lot lights to LED to eliminate the excess waste and toxic chemicals that are hazardous to the environment. LED lights can reduce energy consumption by as much as 75% and last up to 20 times longer than metal halide lamps.

Responsible Waste Management: By converting our file storage practices to digital document storage we aim to reduce our paper waste by 50%.

Energy Star Appliances: Whenever feasible, Energy Star-certified appliances are used. Energy Star appliances help reduce greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change, making them a preferred option.

SMART Building Technology: We believe in optimizing energy usage by installing building automation systems to control heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems, lighting, and other mechanical systems in our residential communities.

Supply Chain Sustainability

Sustainable Procurement: We prioritize sourcing materials and services from suppliers who focus on reducing waste and minimizing their carbon footprint.

Physical & Mental Well-being

Our corporate office offers a state-of-the-art facility to promote physical and mental health. Through a balance of physical fitness, stretching, meditation, and recovery techniques, Brixton provides a dynamic environment to encourage total wellness. Located just across from Fletcher Cove Park and Beach, our corporate office provides access to bicycles, surfboards, and stand-up paddle boards encouraging outdoor recreation and wellness.

Brixton offers resources and counseling services to support the mental well-being of our employees, recognizing the importance of mental health in overall wellness.

Our social impact strategy includes year-round contributions through volunteering and charitable donations. Brixton founder Marc Brutten and his wife Patty established The Brutten Family Foundation to aid organizations and projects that make a positive difference for our planet, help individuals find refuge in nature, and create opportunities for learning and enlightenment.
